Current Responsibilities
Colin has been responsible for the EMEA engineering on the data centre operations delivery for the JPMC account in EMEA for the last five+ years. His daily responsibilities include account transformation and strategic direction in EMEA, implementation of the JPMC/JLL engineering and critical facility platforms, engineering performance KPI and SLAs, audit and statutory compliance and delivering the services against agreed targets.
Previous Experience
Following an electrical and mechanical apprenticeship, Colin became a multiskilled technician and qualified in electrical engineering. Initially working in the locomotive construction plant in Derby for British Rail. He then broadened his engineering abilities into the field of air conditioning. Following that, he became a commissioning manager, not only working on projects at Canary Wharf, but commissioning the largest public building constructed in Britain in the 20th century – The British Library – with its highly complex temperature and humidity control systems. Colin managed the commissioning of the book delivery system consisting of over 100 conveyors required to operate in a synchronised manner to deliver precious artefacts throughout the library without damage. After that, he worked as a technical manager and gained a broad range of technical knowledge, contract experience and management skills. He has delivered transitions of five million sq ft of real estate and carried out audits on facilities for Intel, Sony, Honeywell manufacturing sites and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Colin migrated the US Engineering Services Compliance Programme (ESCP) to EMEA. This involved removing the American legislation references and incorporating access to the European legislative information.
Colin joined JLL in 2006 and since the he held numerous position, from an Area and then Regional Engineering Project Manager to Field Support Director to the Regional Director – Engineering EMEA on the HSBC account.
As the Field Support Director he is responsible for the technical and strategic operational best practice on IFM accounts. He provides engineering guidance and support to the IFM accounts and all IFM departments. His specific tasks include supporting new business pursuits, auditing, identifying and tackling any shortcomings within facilities; transition liaison; liaison with consultants and service providers across EMEA.
