The entry deadline for the H&V News Awards 2026 is 22 May 2026. The winners will be announced at Grosvenor House Hotel on the 26 November 2026.
This category seeks to recognises organisations embracing new design, installation and management methods that prioritise safety and compliance with the Building Safety Act.
Entries should illustrate how new and effective approaches to HVAC systems are being delivered, particularly as part of a holistic, building-wide approach to system design. Entries are welcome from consultants, contractors and housing associations, as long as all stakeholders are listed.
Judges will be looking for how competence is evidenced in the specification, installation, testing and maintenance of HVAC systems to support the ‘Golden Thread’ of accurate and up-to-date building information.
Please be sure to provide evidence of your projects’ success, including images and diagrams, as well as testimonials for the judges to assess.
Qualifying period: 1 January 2025 – 22 May 2026
This category seeks to recognise campaigns, programmes and initiatives that have been the most successful in reaching their intended recipients. The category is open to marketing, public awareness or information, and training campaigns alike.
Judges will be looking for details of each campaign’s planning, implementation, stakeholder engagement and metrics for its subsequent impact. This category is open to the whole HVAC supply chain; manufacturers, distributors, consultants, installers, trade associations, and training providers.
Qualifying period: 1 January 2025 – 22 May 2026
This category seeks to reward collaborative efforts and successful industry partnerships within the HVAC sector and across its supply chains. Entries are open to all HVAC organisations, although all stakeholders must be credited with their respective roles and responsibilities in the collaboration clearly defined.
The judges will be looking for evidence of results that could not have been achieved without the participation of all stakeholders, in recognition of the importance of cross-sectoral communication and collaboration.
Qualifying period: 1 January 2025 – 22 May 2026
This category seeks to recognise the important role of the HVAC sector in improving and raising awareness of indoor environmental quality (IEQ), particularly indoor air quality (IAQ), among building occupants through their products, projects or initiatives.
Entries should demonstrate technological approaches, best practice guidance, awareness campaigns or initiatives centred around IEQ with respect to air conditioning, air purification, cleaning, or filtration, and monitoring and controls. Judges will be looking for evidence of the measurable impact on IEQ metrics, including air quality, ventilation effectiveness, thermal comfort and occupant wellbeing, or public awareness of IEQ.
Qualifying period: 1 January 2025 – 22 May 2026
This award celebrates measurable carbon reduction and energy efficiency achievements gained through innovative HVAC projects, technologies or organisational initiatives, across the entire supply chain.
Judges will be looking for details of planning, implementation, stakeholder engagement and metrics in order to gauge the impact of your carbon reduction or decarbonisation initiative. Please be sure to provide quantifiable evidence and data to support your claims.
This category is open to the whole HVAC supply chain; manufacturers, distributors, consultants, installers, trade associations, and training providers, as long as all stakeholders are listed.
The continuous improvement of skills and competencies is vital to the industry, so this category seeks to recognise training providers that have gone above and beyond to recruit, retain and train the next generation of HVAC talent.
Judges will be looking for entries demonstrating new approaches to the design, implementation and rollout of training courses and upskilling programmes. All entries should be backed up with evidence of their successful rollout and trainee testimonials.
The category is open to companies that are able to demonstrate a concerted commitment to training through their initiative. Please ensure all stakeholders are listed and provide evidence of your initiative’s impact where possible.
Qualifying period: 1 January 2025 – 22 May 2026
This category seeks to reward HVAC contractors that continuously provide exemplary customer service and outstanding project management throughout the year. Entries are open to all HVAC contractors and installers, large or small.
Judges will be looking at each contractor’s completed projects, along with the way businesses have positioned themselves within their supply chains and the wider industry. Winning entries will demonstrate excellence across their business operations, from on-site installations to administration and organisation.

This new award seeks to recognise outstanding HVAC installers who consistently deliver high-quality work, technical excellence, and professionalism.
Judges will be looking for individuals who demonstrate exceptional technical skill, compliance, health & safety awareness, and customer service, and contribute positively to their business and the wider industry.
Please note, pictures of your installations and testimonials from your customers and employer(s) will be essential for the judges to assess the quality your work.
Qualifying period: 1 January 2025 – 22 May 2026
Merchants will play a crucial part in the HVAC industry’s development and their customers’ journey towards decarbonisation, so this category seeks to celebrate their critical role in the supply chain.
Entries are open to merchants who have launched successful sales campaigns or marketing initiatives; distribution, purchasing or logistical innovations, and technological developments that help the industry communicate, collaborate and deliver the best results for their clients.
Judges will be looking for details of each campaign’s planning, implementation, stakeholder engagement and metrics for its subsequent impact. This category is open to the whole HVAC supply chain; manufacturers, distributors, consultants, installers, trade associations, and training providers.
Qualifying period: 1 January 2025 – 22 May 2026
The Rising Star Award celebrates outstanding emerging talent in the heating, ventilation and wider utilities supply chain. It recognises an individual who, early in their career, has already made a notable impact through their exceptional performance and initiative over the past year.
Open to employees of HVACR organisations and their supply chain partners, entrants must have seven years’ industry experience or fewer. Candidates may be apprentices, trainees or professionals of any seniority level who have stood out for the quality of their work, their drive to improve standards, and their positive contribution to their organisation and the wider sector.
Judges will be looking for individuals who have exceeded expectations, shown clear talent and passion for the industry, and are already influencing progress through innovation, problem-solving, leadership potential or inspiring others around them.
The Team of the Year prize seeks to reward collective achievements within HVAC organisations that support and encourage effective thought leadership, teamwork and resource management to address key industry priorities and overcome challenges.
Judges will be looking for examples of how the teams were assembled, how their objectives were shared and managed, and how their teamwork has produced tangible results for their organisation or the wider industry.
Entries for small or large teams are welcome from all organisations, including trade associations, with at least two testimonials from team members required to help the judges decide which team deserves this year’s accolade. In your entry, please describe why your nominated team should be award team of the year, as well as what makes them stand in their organisation or association.

This award celebrates commercial heating products that are setting new standards for performance, specification, accessibility and user experience, particularly across large-scale applications such as retail estates or industrial processes.
Entries are welcome from companies that have launched a new domestic heating product, including commercial boilers, heat pumps, radiators, components and peripheral products, into the market within the qualifying period. Submissions are welcome from designers, manufacturers and suppliers alike, as long as all product stakeholders are listed.
The judges will be looking for entries that demonstrate clear improvements and benefits across their design, specification, integration and performance.

This category recognises the critical role heat networks play in decarbonising home heating and meeting net zero targets. Entries are welcome from consultants, contractors and suppliers working on heat network projects that demonstrate creative design, project management, stakeholder engagement and compliance with the Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme.
Judges will be looking for entries that demonstrate exemplary engineering, technical skill and best practice in heat network design, as well as interesting approaches to heat sourcing, waste heat reuse and scalable system integration. Please be sure to provide evidence of your project’s compliance, progress and results for the judges to assess.
Entries are welcome from all contractors, but this award will go to the entire project team, so please be sure to list all stakeholders and their roles in your project to ensure they receive recognition.
Qualifying period: 1 January 2025 – 22 May 2026
This category seeks to recognise the critical role of heat pumps in decarbonising home heating and creating resilience in the built environment, as well as the ways in which they have been adapted for comprehensive decarbonisation of both heating and cooling throughout the UK’s building stock.
Judges will be looking for entries that demonstrate exemplary engineering, technical skill and best practice in heat pump installation and system integration, as well as creative examples of heat sourcing, waste heat reuse and system networking. Please be sure to provide evidence of your project’s compliance and results for the judges to assess.
Entries are welcome from all contractors, but this award will go to the entire project team, so please be sure to list all stakeholders and their roles in your project to ensure they receive recognition.
Qualifying period: 1 January 2025 – 22 May 2026
This nomination-only award will be presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the HVAC industry throughout the course of their career.
The judging panel will be looking for candidates at all levels of the industry who embody strong leadership and a passion for their industry.
Please provide a detailed description of no more than 1000 words on why your nominated candidate should win the Outstanding Achievement Award. Please also enclose a photo and supporting material, with testimonials from their colleagues and peers to support your nomination.
