Andrew Blunsdon, 50 years old and born in Weston super mare, is the founding director of Bristol based Mechanical and Electrical contractors Priddy Engineering services limited. Andrew founded the company in 2009 following over 20 years with MITIE. In 2011 Andrew brought into the company a Non-executive board of directors to help provide strong governance for the long term growth of the business. The company has been built on the founding ethics of a can do attitude but also championing the industry which Andrew is so passionate about.
Andrew is a strong advocate of education and training and amongst his other commitments he was the chairman of the Building and Engineering services associations training committee now a active member. Following what Andrew describes as an uninspired time at school leaving with just a hand full of CSE’s he embarked a career as an apprentice plumber, joining the MITIE group in 1989. After 10 years of being a site based mechanical foreman, Andrew decide to return to college and embark on completing a HNC in building services he soon made the transition from site to a office based opportunity starting out in Estimating, Surveying, Project and Contracts management and then business development. In 2009 Andrew left to build his own business. Which now employs over 70 people and delivering M&E within the south west region. The Business and Andrews commitment to education and training has enabled him to develop a strong apprentice program within Priddy where they currently support 11 apprentices and trainees in all areas of the business. Andrew has continued to develop himself and lead by example in 2012 at 45 years whilst building a business completed a MBA. “It’s never too late to embrace education.”
